The third stage of conscious action. A shape is the complete union of a line. Edges indicate the full completion of an enclosed area. Whereas the division initially created by line separates ambiguously, a shape holds a clear reference to what is inside and what is outside. Through shapes, an artist begins to allude to depth and form.
In this website, shape refers to paintings, prints, and collage. This dimension includes media that involve more process and layering; media where the qualities and character of different materials, or the techniques and processes of a method, may be evident in the work - all the while, these images maintain a consistency with the intent of the image.
